The 2012 NBA All-Star Game is an exhibition basketball game that will be played on February 26, 2012 at Amway Center in Orlando, Florida, home of the Orlando Magic. This game will be the 61st edition of the National Basketball Association (NBA) All-Star Game and will be played during the 2011–12 NBA season. The Orlando Magic will serve as host. The Magic were awarded the All-Star Game in an announcement by commissioner David Stern on May 4, 2010. This will be the second time that Orlando had hosted the All-Star Game; the city had previously hosted the event in 1992 in the Orlando Arena, the Magic's previous home arena. It will also mark the first time an Eastern Conference city hosted an All-Star game since Atlanta, Georgia in 2003.
All-Star game scheduling was unaffected by the 2011 NBA lockout, which reduced the regular season by 16 games to a 66-game schedule.

most entertaining sporting events to Orlando -- NBA All-Star 2012.
Returning for the first time since 1992, when Magic Johnson made his
dramatic comeback on the court, NBA All-Star 2012 is a unique experience
that celebrates the NBA's greatest athletes.
NBA All-Star Saturday Night includes four competitions featuring some of the NBA's best players. The Haier Shooting Stars competition features NBA and WNBA Players and NBA Legends in a shooting contest. In the Taco Bell Skills Challenge, the top guards work against the clock to compete in an "obstacle course," consisting of a series of passes, free throws, lay-ups and agility drills. The Foot Locker Three-Point Contest, six of the best long-range shooters attempt to score the most three-pointers in a race against the clock. The event's grand finale, the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest, showcases the NBA's most athletic players as they take to the air, mystifying fans with their gravity defying creativity.
